The advantages of membership of Studio Potters SA, Inc. includes use of all clubroom facilities, wheels, kilns, storage, clay purchases, use of library, and open workspace at times to suit the potter, other than during class times.

Members may exhibit in the gallery and are required to undertake gallery duty as rostered by Gallery Manager.

Participation in specialized workshops is popular with members.  During the year, the committee arranges one day or weekend skill workshops as opportunity presents.

 

AN APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

is presented to the committee who assess

the applicants evidence of skill

(3 pots should be presented or other photographic documentation)

 

Application Procedure (download link for the application is at the end of this article)

  • Please attach to your application a photocopy of your Driver’s Licence or another form of identity with a photograph.
 
  • Please submit evidence of pottery experience e.g. examples of pots, photos, documentation of experience.
 
  • All sections of the application must be filled in, unless otherwise stated on the form.
 
  • Please attach the appropriate membership fee.

  • All relevant fees must be paid before a security door key will be issued or your membership activated.
  • The Club is not to be used by visitors without prior Committee approval.
  • The premises are not to be used as a private studio
  • Storage of materials other than in members’ lockers is strictly prohibited on the premises.
  • At least 3 firings with an existing experienced Full Member are required before you may fire alone. This can be arranged by firing simultaneously with another member, and being under their guidance.
  • You MUST be present during the whole process of firing, and MUST remain until the kiln is turned off. (Except overnight ‘steaming’ prior to firing.)
  • The premises may be used at any time. However, during set class times it may be necessary to negotiate with the class tutor regarding the use of any available wheels.
  • The common room may be used at any time.
  • All club equipment is available for use. It must be maintained and left as clean as possible after use.
  • You will receive a regular newsletter.
  • You may exhibit in the Gallery and in our annual exhibitions (subject to selection process and acceptance.)

  Pro rata rate is $9.15 per month
  i.e. signup in January and pay the pro rata rate of 6 months @ $9.15 per month
